Production Manager

About the Role

The Production Manager will oversee the daily scheduling, coordination, and execution of MRO operations for their assigned product. This role is critical to ensuring smooth production workflows, optimizing resource allocation, and meeting turnaround times (TAT) in compliance with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and customer requirements. The candidate will work closely with Engineering, Logistics and Stores, Quality, SMS, HSE and Facilities and to ensure efficient production while maintaining high standards of safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Resource Management:

  • Ensure the optimal allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials to meet production deadlines.
  • Collaborate with Planning and stores to ensure timely availability of parts and materials.
  • Optimize the utilization of work cells, tooling and machinery for maximum efficiency.

Process Optimization:

  • Analyze production workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Maintain Six Sigma best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to TAT, utilization and efficiency.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with MOE and GCAA, EASA, and FAA. regulatory requirements
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety policy, quality control, and company policies.
  • Support regular audits and implement corrective actions to maintain quality and SMS compliance and a safe working environment.

Team Leadership:

  • Identify, Recruit, Lead, coach, and develop and manage a team of technicians and inspectors
  • Organise training for staff to enhance skills and productivity.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support the professional growth of team members.

Customer Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the customer service team to ensure alignment with customer requirements and expectations.
  • Manage any changes or deviations in the production plan to meet customer needs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in an MRO, aerospace, or aviation production environment with a proven track record
  • Strong knowledge of component maintenance processes, including Part 145 regulations.
  • Proficiency in Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of SMS / Human Factors / CAR-145 requirements
  • Familiarity with GCAA/EASA/FAA regulatory environment.
  • Relevant technical background in component maintenance
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in an aviation or MRO environment
  • Strong positive leadership with a proven ability to guide and inspire teams.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to foster collaboration across all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
