Technical Support Engineer

About the Role

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safety and performance of aircraft by conducting critical maintenance on components such as Nacelles, Fan Stator Modules, and Radomes. Your expertise will directly contribute to the airworthiness and reliability of these essential parts.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Guidance & Support:
  • Offer expert technical assistance to workshop personnel during the inspection and repair of aerostructure components.
  • Evaluate damaged parts, develop repair solutions, and oversee their implementation in the workshop.
  1. Repair Development:
  • Coordinate the design and development of new repair methods and inspection criteria for various components.
  • Creation of work packages and job cards, ensuring they reflect current procedures and regulations.
  1. Compliance & Quality Control:
  • Ensure the airworthiness of components by reviewing repair work and ensuring it aligns with EASA, FAA, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct post-repair inspections and final verification before releasing components for service.
  1. OEM Liaison & Documentation:
  • Communicate with OEM manufacturers to resolve issues beyond existing repair manuals, advocating for alternative solutions when necessary.
  • Ensure all findings are documented, tracked, and reported for continuous improvement.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Analyze workshop performance and propose process enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce turnaround times.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in aerostructures maintenance and repairs, ideally within an MRO environment.
  • Experience working with nacelles T700, Leap1A and GP7200, fan stator modules, radomes, or other aircraft structural components is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design and repair methodologies for aircraft components.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, OEM manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with specialized tools and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods for aerostructures inspection.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think creatively and implement practical repair solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for coordinating with OEMs, team members, and regulatory bodies.
